1 So how did it all begin? I was always searching for the best music to add to my music collection since I was a little kid. In middle school I got tired of hearing bad DJ’s so I decided to give it a shot. Once I attended Ultra Music Festival 2011, I knew this is what I wanted to do.
2 Where do you live? Miami, Florida. USA.
3 Where did the name come from? It’s from my real name, but I changed the first name to Jay.
4 Which other countries have you played/put parties on? I’m currently working on gigs mostly in the Carribean Islands.
5 What's the best event you've played at/put on? My favorite would have to be my smaller gigs like tailgates or formals where I don’t have to play Top 40 and get the entire audience dancing, rather than jumping or fist pumping.
6 What was your first record you bought? Disturbing the Peace by Ludacris
7 Out of all the tunes you have, which one 'never fails?' If I had to pick one, Ni**as In Satisfaction (Chuckie Mashup) because it manages to make its way into all of my sets.
8 What's you favourite tune of all time? That’s a super tough choice for me…. It would have to be something by Diplo, so I’ll go with his remix of ‘Work Is Never Over’ by Daft Punk. That song is what made me switch over from rap to EDM.
9 So how is the scene in your eyes at the moment? It’s just started to get bigger in the USA. By having the ability to create a song with just a computer, there is no stopping. Genres like trap have proven EDM is here to stay because of its versatility.
10 What are your feelings on the MC's? I am not a fan of MC’s. I think they take away from the mood a DJ tries to create during his set.
12 What advice would you give to up and coming DJs/Producers? Be positive, network, don’t talk too much, and PROMOTE YOUR MUSIC!
13 what do you think of sohblog? SOHBlog is amazing! There are thousands of blogs out there, but SOHBlog is one I use to find tracks and mashups other people haven’t found yet!
