Marc Kelly!! Podcast page with 12 mixed sets uploaded and more to come

I saw your request on Twitter for info on DJs etc. and thought this would be perfect for my partner Marc Kelly. Marc had always been a closet DJ up until the point when we met almost 18 years ago. I was big into the club scene in Washington DC, as he was too, and was floored when he first let me hear one of his mixed tapes. I couldn't believe how amazing it was and that he wasn't out tearing up the clubs with his incredible talent. I was working at a bar/club at the time and got him a job DJing there. He quickly became very popular and grew a strong following, and greatly improved the club's business. With his success, we thought we should see how far his abilities could take him and decided to move ourselves down to the South Beach, Miami club scene in September of 1996. Though he had some success in Miami, the underside and shadyness of the club scene there started to give us too many bad vibes and wasn't enough for us to be able to pay our bills, so we decided to pack up and move to New York City in 1998. DJing became less of a priority in our lives and more of hobby for Marc once we settled in New York, but we never lost our passion for house music and continued to buy records and put together mixed CDs for all of our friends. We were in NYC for 8 years before moving out here to West Hollywood, California and have been here since the beginning of 2007. As record stores began to close and life threw us other priorities, making mixed sets of music began to wane in importance until a few years ago when online music stores began to get their act together and DJing software programs started to improve in quality and performance. Marc's passion for mixing started to reignite. Then we discovered podomatic.com and found a way again to share our love of music with friends more easily by posting our sets there as podcasts.

We've been able to transfer most of our old tapes/CDs to mp3 format and have posted a lot of them, with more to come. We've also posted 3 current podcasts from 2012. I believe Marc's talent that sets him apart from others starts with his musical ear and perfect pitch which guides him into knowing just which songs to mix with others and when to start that mix. If you listen to any of those classic sets we have posted you'll see the incredible journey that his sets can take you on with the proper energy exchange between songs that's created and enhanced by the mix. He's also excelled at choosing which songs mash up well together to create almost a new sound and has several mashups featured in each of his sets. His genre of choice for dance music is vocal house music mixed with tribal/cha-cha beats and spiced up with Progressive/Electro flavorings. His talent also lies in the programming of each set. We always like to have our sets convey a theme and a subtext that when heard together seem to tell a story as a whole that's greater than the story of each individual song. We believe that adds extra depth and meaning to our sets which affects people subconciously, helping them to feel the beat and be inspired and moved by the music.

Together we call ourselves Stop! Productions. Marc is the DJ/musical talent and I am like his muse/producer. I pick out and purchase all the music and have input into the programming and mixing and do all of his promoting, but he's the supreme talent of the duo who actually works the magic. It's hard to expose his talent for others outside our group of friends since he hasn't actually played out in a club in years, so I would be more than appreciative for any help your blog might contribute to others being able to be as inspired by hearing his genius as I am. His music is perfect for people to download and then play at their own private house parties, cardio inspiration for their gym workouts, traveling music to groove to while in the car/train/plane, or just motivation to clean the house to. If nothing else, I hope that you can at least listen to several of his sets on our podcast page and enjoy them yourself, even if you choose not to share it on your blog. Thanks for the consideration and let the music lift you up!!! You can hear all his sets at our podcast page, and that link again is
